Today, between 08:00 and 16:00, Abisko will be unavailable because we have to move around some hardware related to the installation of the final system of Abisko.

Abisko is now back online.

We are currently having  some problems with GPFS, the parallel filesystem, which we are investigating.

The queues on all clusters have been stopped.

Update 12:46
The problematic disk has been suspended and new data will not be written to it any longer.
Old, not broken, data can still be read.
Data is being migrated away from the problematic disk.
We currently do not have an estimate of how long this will take.

The problem with the GPFS parallel filesystem (/pfs/nobackup) has now been solved.
We did not see any indications of lost or damages files during the recovery process.
However you are advised to check your files to be on the safe side.

Batch queues have been reactivated.

The installation of part B of Abisko that interfered with the interim system is now finished and Abisko is now online again.

Abisko is unavailable due to system maintenance in connection with the installation of part B of the system.

We do not currently have a precise estimate of when Abisko will be accessible and accepting jobs again, but it will be before the weekend of November 26-27.

Monday Nov 21th we will be connecting new nodes to Abisko.

Due to the risk of cabling mistakes during this the batch system of Abisko will be disabled.

The cabling will take all day and possibly part of Tuesday 22nd.

Monday Nov 21th we will do a firmware update on the storage that makes up /pfs/nobackup and /hsm filesystems.

To do the update the filesystems need to be taken offline.

No batchjobs will be allowed to run and the login nodes of the clusters will be disabled.

The update will take all day.

Gaussian 09 has been upgraded to revision C.01 on Akka.

Gaussian will be available on Abisko when the final system has been installed.

Tonight, November 2, between 22:00 and 23:00 there will be done some emergency work in the Umeå university core network. The work may also affect access to HPC2N.
