The bigmem partition has now been upgraded to Ubuntu Precise.

The normal login node for Abisko has now been updated and opened for login.

The temporary name abisko-precise.hpc2n.umu.se has been deleted and the node will be converted to a compute node.

We have now started migrating the first 2 racks of nodes to Ubuntu Precise.

The old login node will be stopped after lunch today (2013-11-22) and upgraded.
During the upgrade of the login node we recommend that you use the
abisko-precise.hpc2n.umu.se login node for accessing your files and rebuilding of any programs using new modules and compilers.

As mentioned previously all information is available at /resources/hardware/abisko/os-upgrade

We have suffered an extended power failure early in the morning (2013-11-20) and HPC2N resources may have limited or no availability until everything is up and running again.

Power is now restored.

Unfortunately the network in the building is still not working properly so everything should still be considered down.

Power and network are now classified stable again, and login access and clusters are back online.

Due to the storm Hilde, we suffered from a power failure on Sunday morning (2013-11-17 04:59) at the University causing both Akka and Abisko to loose power.
Thus all jobs that where running was lost.

We are currently restarting everything.

Abisko and Akka are now up and running again.

We are going to upgrade Abisko from Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) to Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise) during November. 

On Monday November 4 there will be a network maintenance between 22:00 and midnight that will affect all our resources at HPC2N.

During this time none of our resources will be available.
