Workshop: Parallel Computing in MATLAB and Scaling to SNIC HPC Clusters

Workshop: Parallel Computing in MATLAB and Scaling to SNIC HPC Clusters

This hands-on workshop will provide attendees a walkthrough of parallel computing with MATLAB, using the Parallel Computing Toolbox (PCT).
Attendees will learn to use parfor, spmd, and distributed array constructs.  Additionally, the MATLAB Distributed Computing Server (MDCS) will be described, allowing users to offload their computationally intensive MATLAB algorithms and scale parallel jobs to multi-node SNIC HPC resources.

There will be hands-on exercises. Please bring your own laptop, and install the thinlinc client on it beforehand.

If you do not have MATLAB installed on your laptop, it is possible to use the one installed on Abisko.

Please make sure you have an account at Abisko.

Basic familiarity with MATLAB is desirable.
