The SNIC Large Spring 2022 and LUMI Sweden Spring 2022 calls are now open. Deadline for submission is 1 April 2022 at 3 PM CEST.

The SNIC Large Spring 2022 and LUMI Sweden Spring 2022 calls have opened. The deadline for submissions is 1 April 2022 at 3 PM CEST.

Please note that there are three calls, one call for Large compute, one call for Large storage, and one call for LUMI Sweden.

SNIC Large compute call:
Call for compute at the SNIC website: https://snic.se/allocations/compute/large-allocations/
Call for compute in SUPR: https://supr.snic.se/round/spring2022largecompute/

SNIC Large storage call:
Call for storage at the SNIC website: https://snic.se/allocations/storage/center-storage/large-storage/
Call for storage in SUPR: https://supr.snic.se/round/spring2022largestorage/

LUMI Sweden call:
Call for compute and storage at the SNIC website: https://snic.se/allocations/compute/x-large/
Call for LUMI Sweden in SUPR: https://supr.snic.se/round/LumiSwedenSpring2022/

The allocations for the SNIC Large calls are for the period 1 July 2022 - 30 June 2023.

The allocations for the LUMI Sweden call are for the period 1 July 2022 - 31 December 2022.

Please note that the deadline for submission is 1 April 2022 at 3 PM CEST. At that time, access to the online application system for these calls will be closed.

The proposals that are submitted within the deadline will be reviewed by the Swedish National Allocations Committee (SNAC) with the help of external experts. The proposals will undergo both scientific and technical evaluation.

How to apply: SNIC uses an online proposal system for all allocations on SNIC resources, which is located at: https://supr.snic.se/
We encourage you to carefully read the instructions before submitting your proposal. Instructions are available at the SNIC website: https://snic.se/allocations/

Note that Large allocations can be requested on one or more resources in a single proposal.

Please also note:

  • Please note that you as a PI or proxy must have accepted the SNIC User Agreement prior to submitting a proposal.
  • SNIC explicitly requests the acknowledgement of SNIC in scientific publications that required the use of SNIC resources, services, or expertise.
  • Papers, presentations and other publications that feature work that relied on SNIC should include an acknowledgement. For more information visit the SNIC website: http://snic.se/allocations/apply4access/
  • While you are logged into the SUPR portal please review your personal information to make sure that all mandatory fields are filled out.
  • LUMI-G is assumed to be made available for this call. If LUMI-G for one reason or another is delayed, LUMI-G allocations will be reduced proportionally to the shorter time of availability.
  • SNIC provides Swedish research with large-scale compute and storage resources. The current SNIC organisation, organised as the SNIC consortium, is only financed through 2022 before being defunded by a decision of the Swedish Research Council. Thus, current SNIC calls and allocations stretching into 2023 are contingent on the Swedish Research Council financing current SNIC resources during 2023. We anticipate a formal assurance that SNIC resources will be made nationally available into 2023. However, there is a small risk that if such guarantees are not provided by Swedish Research Council, allocations beyond 2022 may be reduced.
