Migrating away from /pfs/nobackup at HPC2N

Dear PIs and users at HPC2N.

As you hopefully already know our new storage system is in full production since November.

There is still some work to be done by You, the user, to make the transition to Project Storage complete.
All data in your /pfs/nobackup$HOME space must be moved to a Project Storage directory or to your $HOME space depending on the type and amount of data.

Important!

If your compute project doesn't have a corresponding storage project yet, contact your PI who can send in a proposal. PIs can request a storage project at https://www.snic.se/allocations/storage/center-storage/ and make sure to reference your active Compute project at HPC2N in your proposal text. We are handling these as soon as possible.

If you need help migrating away from /pfs/nobackup$HOME please send a mail to support@hpc2n.umu.se, or through the SUPR Support functionality, https://supr.snic.se/support/, and describe which files you want to move where.

The initially set deadlines for migrating away from /pfs/nobackup have been moved forward. The /pfs/nobackup$HOME space will be set in Read-Only mode from 2021-02-28, and it will be made unavailable 2021-03-31. These dates will not be changed again.
