The NAISS Large Spring 2026 round is open
Deadline for submission: 21 April 2026 at 15:00 CEST .
News
- NAISS has changed the structure of application rounds. NAISS no longer has separate compute, storage, and sensitive data rounds. It is now possible to apply for compute resources, storage resources and resources for sensitive data in the same proposal.
- To encourage our largest users to apply for EuroHPC resources, there are now upper limits on the capacity you can request in this Large round.
- The project publication lists for earlier NAISS projects should not be included as text in the uploaded Activity Report PDFs. Instead, you register publications resulting from the projects (and acknowledging the use of NAISS resources) via DOIs in SUPR. This will enable NAISS to better present the large scientific output resulting from the use of our resources. The publication list you include as part of the Large proposal itself is still uploaded as a PDF.
- Financial support is now entered in a table with a row for each grant or similar instead of being a free-text field.
- You now have to acknowledge that NAISS storage resources are to be used for active data only. You have to continuously remove non-active data during the allocation period. In your data management plan you have to declare how you will handle your data after the allocation has ended.
- We encourage users to apply for all their needs in a single proposal. NAISS recognises that there may be special cases which might require more than one proposal, for example if an applicant has a need to handle both sensitive and non-sensitive data, but access to the sensitive data should be restricted to a subset of co-investigators. A request for any such exception should be clearly motivated in the proposals.
Due to the changes described above, you might need to allocate a bit more time than usual this year to complete your proposal.
