You are welcome to join the PRACE Scientific Seminar - HPC Boosts Science on February 21-23, 2011, hosted by PDC in Stockholm.

The seminar aims to address questions essential to scientists from the user's  point of view rather than from that of HPC experts.

During the seminar, prominent researchers from a wide range of scientific communities will present their achievements and give their opinions on the current and future trends of HPC.

An Overview of OpenMP

The purpose of this half-day course is to give a short overview of the most important aspects of OpenMP, v. 2.5.

Topics that will be covered:

  • Parallel for loops
  • Reduction
  • Mutual exclusion (locks, barriers)
  • Variables (private, shared, firstprivate)
  • Sections
  • Run-time library
  • Scheduling (static, ...)

Intel development / HPC tools

HPC2N and Intel would like to welcome you to a two day course, consisting of training in the following Intel tools: Composer XE, Advisor XE, and VTune Amplifier XE, as well as an overview of using OpenMP 4.

The focus will be on usage on a single compute node (not a whole cluster).

There will be hands-on training in using the tools, and in how to use them on your own codes.
