SNIC Cloud Computing Workshop at Umeå University 10th of October 2017

The SNIC Science Cloud (SSC) is a community cloud for research within Swedish academia and use of the resources is free of charge to Swedish
PIs and their collaborators.

We would like to invite all interested current and future users to a training workshop on introductory level at HPC2N, Umeå, 10:00-16:00 on
the 10th of October.

We will introduce cloud computing in general, including covering best practices around security and you will learn the basics of how work with
the OpenStack based Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS).

The majority of time will be spent in lab sessions on basic usage of the IaaS cloud.
You need to bring a laptop but no prior experience of using cloud resources are required.

10:00 Cloud introduction.
11:45 Lunch break.
12:15 Hands on labs.
14:00 Coffee break.
14:15 Hands on labs.
16:00 Workshop ends.

Coffee and a light lunch is included and please note that the the number of participants are limited to around 25, and spots will be filled on a
first-come-first serve basis.
