Tensorflow

Software name:
Tensorflow
Policy

Tensorflow is available to all users of HPC2N.

General

Tensorflow is an open-source software library for Machine Intelligence.

Description

TensorFlow™ is an open source software library for numerical computation using data flow graphs. Nodes in the graph represent mathematical operations, while the graph edges represent the multidimensional data arrays (tensors) communicated between them.

The flexible architecture allows you to deploy computation to one or more CPUs or GPUs in a desktop, server, or mobile device with a single API.

TensorFlow was originally developed by researchers and engineers working on the Google Brain Team within Google's Machine Intelligence research organization for the purposes of conducting machine learning and deep neural networks research, but the system is general enough to be applicable in a wide variety of other domains as well.

Availability

On HPC2N we have Tensorflow available as a module on Kebnekaise.

Usage at HPC2N

To use the Tensorflow module, first add it to your environment. Use:

module spider tensorflow

to see which versions are available, as well as how to load the module and any needed prerequisites.

Note that while the case of the software name does not matter when you use "ml spider", it is necessary to match the case when loading the modules.

You can read more about loading modules on our Accessing software with Lmod page and our Using modules (Lmod) page.
