Abisko Decommissioning

After 9 years and almost 20 million compute jobs, it is time to retire Abisko.

On September 30 2020, Abisko will be closed for public use. From 22 September, no new jobs will be allowed to start. Any remaining jobs in the batch queues of Abisko on September 30 will be deleted.

If you have data located locally on Abisko's login node, i.e in /scratch, you must take care of it before September 30th, otherwise it will be deleted. Data located in home directories and the parallel file systems (/pfs/nobackup and /proj/nobackup) will still be accessible from Kebnekaise.

Remember that the parallel file systems (/pfs/nobackup and /proj/nobackup) are intended for active data to be used in compute projects and that no backup of the file systems is performed. Data to be saved for the future must be moved to other file systems.
