NAISS Introduction training days, 1st to 3rd June 2026

NAISS Introduction training days

The NAISS introduction training days are aimed at new users of the infrastructure. More experienced users, wishing to deepen their understanding of the workings of the systems, are more than welcome to attend our event. We offer five modules distributed over 3 days. Each module describes a particular aspect of using a NAISS system. You are welcome to choose and pick the modules that best address your existing knowledge, your interest and your requirements. For each module we provide a separate description, which should allow you to make an informed choice on the modules you wish to attend.

The training is open for all current and prospective users of the NAISS infrastucture.

Each module covers 3 or 6 hours. The modules are delivered in English and are held online.

Modules

  • Linux Command Line 101: an introduction to the Linux system, which is what is used on all NAISS's systems.
  • Connecting and File Transfer
  • Selecting Software Modules: using the module system to find and access the software installed on NAISS's systems
  • Running Jobs on Clusters: using the batch system, Slurm
  • Linux Command Line 201: an intermediate Linux course. Learn to work efficiently with more Bash commands (pipe, wc, cut, sed, grep, awk, etc.), scripting and some quality of life topics.
