SeSE: High Performance Computing II, April 13-17

SeSE course - High Performance Computing II

This course is organized by HPC2N together with lecturers mainly from Dept. of
Computing Science and UMIT Research Lab. It is open for Master and PhD students as well as Postdocs
and other researchers.

The aim of the course is to provide computational scientists with knowledge and practical skills that are necessary to actively participate in the development of parallel and high-performance software within their respective research fields.

The course is open to researchers from any discipline with basic knowledge of parallel computer architectures, parallel programming models, basic linear algebra, and numerical methods.

The lectures will be held in Umeå, April 13-17.

The dead-line for registration for the course is March 31, 2015.

The course focuses on three themes:

 

  1. General HPC techniques
  2. Fundamental parallel algorithms
  3. HPC library software and tools

Schedule:

 

 

  • Week 15 (preparatory work at home)
  • Week 16 (lectures and labs in Umeå)
  • Week 17 (homework)
