Training Workshop: Learn to use Allinea’s highly scalable and easy-to-use HPC development tools

Learn to use Allinea’s highly scalable and easy-to-use HPC development tools

HPC software specialists 'Allinea' are pleased to provide a technical workshop at HPC2N on 27th January 2016.

The workshop will be held on-site with access to the local cluster and Allinea tools. This is a real hands-on opportunity to learn from an Allinea expert who will share best practises on how to debug, profile and analyse the performance of your parallel applications written in C/C++ or Fortran.

Date: 27th January 2016.

Time: 9.00 - 16:30.

Location: MIT Building + UB, Umeå University

Room: UB341 (9:00 - 12:00), MC413 (12:00 - 16:30)

Using Allinea tools you will be able to progress the development of your MPI, OpenMP or hybrid application much more efficiently as these tools are both powerful and extremely easy to navigate.

  • Allinea Performance Reports - without instrumenting or recompiling code see the performance of ISV applications and your own applications within a single HTML report - now available on all SNIC sites.
  • Allinea Forge, a GUI-based development solution that includes:
    • Allinea DDT - consign memory leaks to history, identify and fix bugs fast by using the most advance parallel debugger available to the HPC market - now available on all SNIC sites
    • Allinea MAP - a non-intrusive tool with less than 5% overhead that enables you to quickly profile and remove application performance bottlenecks in computation, communication, synchronisation or I/O

In order to participate in the hands-on excercises, you will need to bring a laptop, preferably setup for Eduroam wifi access.

Lunch will be provided.
